We are (almost) gluten free in my house and almond flour is indispensable. I use it for pancakes, flourless cakes, crust for fish, etc. It is very moist and versatile. Just a thought.

welldone guys.

And Martin, I want a copy of your pizza base recipe when you've finished it.

I hope those of you that discovered healthier eating as part of the week can keep it up. And if I'm ever up at your end of Scotland one day I'll be eating gluten free at your restaurant for sure.

very interesting everyone. I wish I had taken on the challenge myself having read your story. We hosted a gluten free day here at Hornblower's Fish & Chip restaurant just up the coast in Gourdon. It was really successful and our customers were delighted to find out we serve gluten free dishes all the time. We have a great batter that really brings out the flavour of the haddock we serve. And it is a much lighter batter. We also provide really good branded gluten free tarts, which are going down well with everyone!

I do apologise, you are right; rye bread is of course wheat free but not gluten free. Thank you for pointing out the mix up. I’m glad that you are enjoying our blog, just about to post our second diary update.

great list, unfortunately you have one error there - Rye contains gluten, so Rye Breads are out.
